Hudson Valley Community College broke ground for its 4,500-seat baseball stadium today -- just one day shy of the year anniversary of Senator Bruno's announcement that he had secured funds in the state budget to construct the new $12 million facility.
Senator Bruno was joined at the ground-breaking by Hudson Valley Community College President John Buono, baseball team owner William Gladstone, Chairwoman of the board of the New York State Dormitory Authority Gail Gordon, and a host of other local dignitaries.
The stadium will be home to the Houston Astros-affiliated Class A baseball team from the New York-Penn League. It will also serve as the home field for Hudson Valley's baseball team, as well as a variety of other college and community events.
