Senator Bruno recently participated in the opening of a new facility to house the services of the Commission on Economic Opportunity for the Greater Capital Region Inc(CEO). The Senator Joseph L. Bruno Family Resource Center will help to consolidate CEOs services to low-income residents of Rensselaer County. Senator Bruno secured $1.5 million in state funds for the project.
"For over three decades, the people of Rensselaer County have been able to call on CEO for economic assistance," said Senator Bruno. "As evidenced by the work this organization has done, providing funding for this facility is a sound investment in the future of this community. I was proud of CEOs work when I was able to secure funding for this project and I continue to be proud of their work today."
With the opening of this facility, located on Fifth Avenue in Troy, CEO will be better able to provide those who face economic hardships with services ranging from early childhood education to job training to programs for senior citizens. In addition, the facility will create 20 additional jobs in Rensselaer County in the fields of child care, teaching, social work and maintenance.
