Senator Bruno today joined hundreds of World War II veterans in Albany to dedicate the New York State World War II Memorial. The memorial will honor those 1.7 million New Yorkers whose heroism helped to secure our victory in the second World War.
"This monument is a long awaited tribute to the men and women who defended our country with great valor and fortitude," Senator Bruno said. "It stands as a silent reminder of the triumph of good over evil -- and of how precious our freedoms truly are. Because they laid everything on the alter of freedom, today the United States stands confident, resolute, and unyielding in our attempts to maintain that very freedom."
