Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council, Saratoga Center for the Family, and Unlimited Potential Inc. to receive $100,000
Friday, April 12, 2002
Senator Bruno recently visited three Saratoga organizations and announced that he had secured $100,000 in state funding for each to help them continue their work for the residents of Saratoga.
"Saratoga is most widely known as a great place to visit and as a popular tourist destination but, more importantly, thanks to organizations like these, Saratoga has also developed a strong community that helps makes it a wonderful place to work and raise a family," said Senator Bruno. "I am pleased to be able to support these first rate organizations as they assist those in need and improve the overall well being of Saratoga residents."
The following organizations are:
Saratoga Center for the Family -- provides child abuse prevention programs, mental health services, crisis intervention, and child victim advocacy to more than 3,000 Saratoga County victims and families annually. Senator Bruno attended the groundbreaking for the Centers new Harriet M. West Child Advocacy Center. The funding secured by the Senator will be used to administer services and programs in the new facility.
Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council -- a community action agency that has been providing a range of services to low-income residents for almost two decades. Senator Bruno toured their new facility in downtown Saratoga Springs.
Unlimited Potential Inc. -- a vocational rehabilitation center that works with Saratoga Countys mentally and physically disables adults, helping them acquire skills to enter the workforce. Senator Bruno presented the organization with a check to help the organization construct a new facility.
