Financial Aid Hotline, Information Available

Senator Jim Alesi (R,C - Perinton) has announced that January 16 - February 16, 2001 is College Aid Awareness Month. This annual event is sponsored by the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association(NYSFAAA) and the Higher Education Service Corporation(HESC).
"New York State is committed to helping students find financial assistance for higher education," said Senator Alesi. "I hope that parents and students will take advantage of this opportunity to have their questions about offsetting tuition costs answered."
A toll-free student financial aid hotline and Web-based chat service will be in operation weekdays from 4 PM to 8 PM. Students and parents can call 1-800-689-1669 or log on to www.nysfaaa.org("Chat Service") to talk with financial aid experts about any aspect of student financial aid.
Senator Alesi will offer a brochure outlining 2001-02 Financial Aid through his district office in Fairport at 223-1800, or from the Senator's website, www.senatoralesi.com.
