Senator Bruno Secured $500,000 in State Funding for the Project
Friday, May 31, 2002
Senator Joseph L. Bruno today attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Saratoga Antique Automobile Museum in the Spa State Park, Saratoga. The new Museum is housed in the totally renovated Bottling Plant originally built in 1935 and will encompass automobiles of all vintages.
"The new Saratoga Automobile Museum will provide a unique educational experience for families and particularly for children to see the vehicles that are part of our culture," said Senator Bruno, who has secured $500,000 in state funding for the project over the last two years. "This Museum will compliment the many historical, cultural and recreational opportunities that make Saratoga a tourist mecca and keep the local economy strong."
The mission of the Saratoga Antique Automobile Museum is to celebrate and educate the general public, students, and enthusiasts about the role of automobiles in this regions and countrys social and economic development, and the important engineering and design accomplishments these vehicles represent. This will be accomplished by preserving, interpreting and exhibiting automobiles and carriages, and artifacts in an organized, related and entertaining fashion.
