A Day to Honor the Innocent
Wednesday, September 11, 2002
September 11th was declared Patriot Day by President Bush to commemorate the terrorist attacks of a year ago. The day will be marked by many solemn events throughout the nation. Governor Pataki has asked that all United States Flags and New York State flags at schools and municipal buildings be lowered to half staff at 8:46 a.m. as a remembrance in honor of those who perished in the World Trade Center attacks. Flags should remain at half staff for the remainder of the day.
