Wednesday, November 13, 2002
State Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno today welcomed members of Community Action for Parents, Teens and Interested Neighbors (CAPTAIN) of Saratoga County to the Capitol and saw the van that the organization purchased with a $25,000 state grant secured by Senator Bruno.
"The CAPTAIN program has done an outstanding job serving the youth and families of Saratoga County," said Senator Bruno. "The addition of this passenger van will help provide the resources necessary for the dedicated individuals of this organization to continue their great work."
"We sincerely appreciate Senator Brunos ongoing commitment to CAPTAIN," said Eileen Reardon, Development Director of CAPTAIN. "His steady support of our organization has contributed greatly to the success of our programs, to the benefit of many children and their families throughout the Saratoga region."
CAPTAIN is a grassroots non-profit human service agency that has been in operation since 1977 in Saratoga County. Their mission is to provide for the positive involvement of youth and adults in programs and services of a social, educational and supportive nature. CAPTAIN works to encourage the healthy development of youth into responsible, contributing citizens, and to develop available services to address community needs.
