Senator Bruno today announced that he has obtained $25,000 in state funding for the Community Action for Parents, Teens And Interested Neighbors organization (CAPTAIN) to be used towards the purchase of a van, furnishings, and equipment for their Outreach Center and shelter operations in Saratoga County.
"The timing of these funds and the services they will support are critical to the children and families we at CAPTAIN work with," said CAPTAIN's Executive Director Bill Casey. "With these funds, we will be able to purchase a smaller, energy efficient van to transport teens at our shelter and families in need to the food bank, medical appointments, job fairs and interviews. More and more, our services are helping families achieve self-sufficiency by giving them a helping hand. Senator Bruno has visited our facilities and continues to offers us the financial support that helps us do what we do best -- improving lives in our community! We are very grateful to the Senator for these funds."
"The dedicated individuals at CAPTAIN are a great asset to Saratoga county," said Senator Bruno. "I am pleased to have secured this funding, so that this association can continue their commitment to serving the youth and families in our community."
CAPTAIN is a non-profit human service agency that offers a broad spectrum of social, educational and prevention programming that addresses the changing needs of youth and families in Saratoga County.
