Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno and Saratoga County District Attorney Jim Murphy today announced that Senator Bruno has secured $50,000 in funds from the 2004-05 state budget to help the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office purchase vehicles and communications equipment for the investigative staff.
"Senator Bruno has been a consistent supporter of law enforcement initiatives, both in Saratoga County and throughout the state," said District Attorney Murphy. "We are so grateful to the Senator for securing these funds, which will allow us to purchase new vehicles and communications equipment so my office can continue to do their jobs effectively."
"The District Attorney's office in Saratoga does a tremendous job of prosecuting criminals and reducing the crime rate," said Senator Bruno. "I am pleased to have secured funding to help purchase new vehicles for the investigative staff so that they can continue to keep the communities of Saratoga County safe and secure."
The funds will be used to help purchase two vehicles for the investigative staff that will be used for investigations of felonies and violent crime, and to purchase communications services, including Nextel cell phones, to be used by the Assistant District Attorneys and members of the District Attorney's office.
