COLD WAR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Dear Friend:
I believe that it is important to acknowledge those individuals who stood ready to serve their country during the Cold War era. That is why I am pleased to share some information about the federal government's Cold War Certificate Program. I realize this is not a state program, however, I believe that many residents in the Hudson Valley are eligible for this award and I wanted to make you aware of its benefits.
The program offers Cold War Recognition Certificates from Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, to all members of the armed forces, National Guard and Reservists, and qualified federal government civilian personnel who faithfully and honorably served the United States any time during the Cold War era (September 2, 1945 to December 26, 1991).
Anyone interested in applying for the Cold War Recognition Certificate should click here for information and instructions on how to apply. You can also use the helpful links below to assist you in navigating the United States Army's Adjutant General Directorate web site.
The individuals who served our country to safeguard our liberties deserve this recognition. I encourage anyone who served during this time to apply for this special honor. Should you have any additional questions about this program, or would like to request an application by phone, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
Sincerely,
Joseph L. Bruno
State Senator
